The White Tulip Young Martyr Scene
This piece combines The Dancing White Tulip Scene with a painting of Paul Delaroche titled “The Young Martyr” (1855). It depicts a young woman in the early Christian years who was martyred for her faith. It is a powerful depiction.
For me this scene reminded me of the past Christian chapters while also making me reflect on the present. Now we can get this urge for a dramatic martyr chapter, a willingness to die as Christians have before us. However, it is often the case that is not what God’s will for us is. Instead of confronting the demons within we rather wish to run towards drama outside. Not considering the time period we are living in.
This print serves as a a reminder of that.
The Fine Art Prints are printed on Big Bend Baryta 310 Paper. Big Bend Baryta offers all of the rich tonality, depth, and feel of a traditional darkroom print. The paper has an elegantly smooth finish and subtle reflectivity. Big Bend has a pleasant neutral white tone imparted by a 100% barium sulfate (baryta) layer.
