This surreal and deep piece combines one of my upclose ladybug encounters with the Virgin Mary, detail from the Ghent Altarpiece, Hubert van Eyck, Jan van Eyck, 1432, St Bavo’s Cathedral, Ghent, Belgium.
According to medieval legend, farmers prayed to our Lady when pests destroyed their crops. A swarm of red-orange beetles arrived, eating the pests and saving the harvest. Grateful, people named them "Our Lady's beetles"
It is available as a 5×7 fine art print (includes half inch white border)
It is printed on Aurora White Matt Fine Art Paper. It is printed on my Canon Pixma 200 and is considered a simple print.
