This darkly beautiful scene is combination of my Black Lane Lotus scene and the painting of “Agony in the Garden” by Nicolas Poussin. He painted this in 1627.
This timeless piece reminds us to wrestle with the demons. To remember that misalignment from God’s path causes agony. And just as lotus emerges from the muddy waters and shares beauty with the world so can we share God’s beauty after going through the process of aligning ourselves with God’s will even while those around us are asleep.
